Bangkok, Thailand — Promoting Nepali language and literature abroad, the literary group 'Sahitya Man Thailand' has successfully hosted the 26th edition of its regular online series, 'Aadarsha Divya Darpan'. The virtual gathering was organized on Friday, October 2, to commemorate both World Non-Violence Day and World Smile Day under the shared theme "Peace and Smile" (शान्ति र मुस्कान).

The program was graced by Chief Guest Associate Professor Dhan Raj Giri, a veteran educator with a longstanding commitment to Nepali language and literature. Writers and literature enthusiasts from Myanmar and Thailand joined the virtual session to recite their works:

  • Kailash Poudyal (Taunggyi, Myanmar) recited the poem "Muskaan" (Smile).

  • Ramesh Siwakoti (Pattaya, Thailand) presented "Samjhana" (Remembrance).

  • Roshan Siwakoti recited "Chaumashako Mahatwo" (Significance of the Four Rainy Months).

  • Subash Adhikari (Bangkok) recited "Meri Muskaan" (My Smile).

  • Ravi Chandra Adhikari presented "Mero Desh" (My Country).

  • Raj Poudyal recited the theme poem "Shanti ra Muskaan" (Peace and Smile).

  • Bhimlal Khanal presented a ghazal.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dhan Raj Giri highlighted that World Non-Violence Day and World Smile Day should not remain merely single-day observances. He emphasized that practicing respect toward elders and youth, offering help to those facing hardships, and adopting compassionate daily behavior are lifelong essentials. He noted that individuals often cause hurt unintentionally through words, attitudes, harsh looks, or even indifferent silence. He added that developing mindfulness in personal conduct, family life, and community interactions lays the foundation for a harmonious society, reminding participants that mental well-being is vital for leading a truly happy life.

The event was chaired by Om Prakash Neupane and moderated by Deepa Rana, with the virtual session streamed live to participants across social media channels.
